2 CommentsHornworms!
Nothing gives me the heebie-jeebies worse than wormy-looking things. Larvae. Maggots. Grubs. They all send chills up and down my spine and just about paralyze me. I’m an organic gardener, but nothing else makes me want to run for the strongest pesticide on the market than these disgusting garden...

1 CommentSummer Garden Update
I spent this morning (before coffee!) in the garden, watering, taking pictures, and throwing the big purple ball for Annie. Time for a little update! This is my original herb garden. I have onion chives in the back, sage in the front, and Provence lavender in the front right. I’m planning to add the rosemary...

No CommentsGreen Beans!
Today has been a chill day at home. I skipped breakfast in favor of coffee and finishing a friend’s blog and then went all out for lunch. We made lemon pepper chicken with brown rice, roasted home-grown green beans, and crostini made with sungold tomatoes, homemade wheat French bread, fresh parsley, olive oil, and feta...

Today is a big homework day for me, and I have to admit I hesitated a little when Chris suggested taking a break to check on the garden. I am so glad he did! It was a nice change of pace to begin to see the fruits of our labors. So here’s an update to...

No CommentsDaylilies
It’s been raining again. I’ve been worried about the garden, but I discovered that these beauties are loving the wet weather. They’re in full bloom and so lovely. I wish they lasted more than a day, but I’m enjoying the constant progression of...

2 CommentsTucked In
My mom loves Pussy Willows, so when I found them at our local Lowe’s garden center, I couldn’t pass them up. I planted one in each of the two back corners of our yard, along with daylilies and blue liriope grass. We’re experiencing one more winter blast here in Central Arkansas. I watched the weather...

This evening I had a wonderful time working in the garden with Annie and Sydney. It is incredibly fulfilling to see the sketches and plans I began years ago become reality. Here is an update on our progress: The Arbor & Gates We found this beautiful arbor for a bargain at Big Lots two weekends...
