I am proud to report that we are still going strong with our cloth diapering. We have revised and simplified our approach, and we are really pleased with how it is going.
We started out with six all-in-ones, lots of prefolds with covers, and six one-size pocket diapers with inserts. After a few weeks and even switching brands, I gave up on the prefolds with covers. Absorbency was an issue, but I also just prefer the simplicity of AIOs. They make the process easier for Chris, too.
I took advantage of Cotton Babies‘ holiday sale and ordered six more medium AIOs. Can you believe how much Mackenzie has grown?!
We’ll have twelve AIOs, plus our six one-size pocket diapers. I wash diapers once a day, but occasionally I let it go a day and a half. Eighteen diapers should last us until Mackenzie is close to a year old – that’s nine months of no diapers in landfills and money savings of between six and seven hundred dollars. Now that is something to celebrate.
