It’s called Purple Cow, by Seth Godin. The theme of the book is simple… Be Remarkable. But if I tell you anything else about it, it will take away from its shockingly wonderfulness. Let me just say that if you are in business, big or small, for profit or not, or if you are remotely entrepreneurial, or if you are a maverick and you work for a company that is stagnating… This book can give you the tools you need to get your cutting edge back. Read it.

p.s. you could be a really good book critic… or like the person who writes the description on the back of the book. i think you have a gift.

Chris – The good news is that this is a short book, and it would really inspire you. You could always read the book report I had to write for a synopsis, but it’s not nearly as interesting.
Lea – maybe you’re right! I should be a book critic. Then I could read books all day. 🙂 Seriously, though, I’m reading another one that I’ll probably write about when I finish it. It’s called “The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry,” and it’s about an executive who decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of getting a diploma at Le Courdon Bleu cooking school in Paris after she got laid off from her job in London. I think you’d really like it, because it talks a lot about French culture, and it has tons of French recipes. 🙂 Plus, the story is really good.
So many books I’m reading for fun when I’m supposed to be doing homework… such a shame school books aren’t more interesting!

lol… I still maintain that you would make the most amazing book critic ever. You laugh, but I think it could work–and you could still work from home. And then you really could read books for fun all day. This new book sounds really interesting, too. It really amazes me how you manage to find time to read, though. I don’t know how you do it… and also how you find out about these books; I’ve never even heard of them. I guess maybe you find time to do it just because you really love it that much….
