Let’s face it – the economy is (still) in the tanker, and lots of people are facing really hard times right now. There is a lot wrong with the system, and attempting to tackle the various problems we face everyday can be every bit of overwhelming.
As tough as things are, we can do something about it simply by changing our attitudes. I stumbled across a fantastic site called Embrace the Lemon today. The site is a forum for a community project based in Seattle. Project volunteers even handed out lemons and posters to members of the community to get more people involved. I love this quote from the project poster:
“The only thing we have to fear is those who don’t make lemonade from lemons.”
A change of attitude – choosing to make lemons into lemonade – may not change our physical circumstances, but it can change our perceptions and our quality of daily life. I hope you’ll take some time today to visit Embrace the Lemon and share your own story.

Thanks for sharing. People are really depressed these days.

I know – unfortunately, there is a lot to be depressed about! I think it’s amazing that this group got together to try to lift the spirit and attitude in their community. I’m hoping to see more of that going on across the country soon.
