We’ve been busy this week making some major headway setting up Mackenzie’s nursery. I love how it is turning out so far!
On Tuesday night, I put together the dresser we bought for her at IKEA. We’re going to build a guard to fit around the top to hold the changing pad.
On Wednesday night we picked out the paint color, and I painted her room while Chris worked on video projects. We found the color at Home Depot. It’s called “Hopeful” — totally appropriate. 🙂
Thursday I went to Target and picked up some inexpensive white curtains and a cover for the changing pad. I looked at a pillow for the chair and some other decorations, too, but I decided to wait until Chris could pick them out with me. The white curtains definitely do the trick, but I think I might add a border to them once we decide on an accent color.
Then, yesterday, I picked up the rug we’ve been eyeing. It’s a super-soft white shag rug, and thankfully, it seems to clean easily with a rubber brush. We also picked out letter decals and spelled her name out on the wall. At first I wasn’t sure how it would look, but it’s really cute and kid-sy — which I guess is the look we’re going for now. 🙂
