Chris and I have both switched into “get it done” gear in regard to Mackenzie’s nursery and finishing up our preparations for her. I have a few nursery projects that have just been dragging on, and I finally finished two of them Monday.
I am really pleased with the chair. There are so many little areas that are very imperfect, but for my first upholstery project, I think it turned out great. I {loosely} followed this tutorial. If you decide to take on a similar project, these instructions will help you out immensely.
I also wanted to use some of the fabric from the crib bedding on the wall, so I made a simple wall hanging. For a “simple” project, the embroidery took much longer than I expected – a solid six hours. Still, totally worth it. 🙂
Next up – sewing a big wet bag, a diaper pail liner, a nursing cover, and a nursing pillow. Thank goodness for a long weekend!

Wow, beautiful job on the chair and embroidered initials! Impressive! The chair looks like you bought it at an expensive boutique! 😀

Aww, thanks, Julia! We’re framing the paintings you did for us, and I’m going to do an entire post on them so the world can see your beautiful artwork. 🙂
