Our trip to Atlanta last weekend was really fun, in spite of us all having the Worst Summer Cold Ever. So much has happened this week, though, that I’m just now posting a little recap.
We got into Atlanta around midnight on Friday and went straight to bed. The next morning we were up early, had breakfast at the hotel, put Mackenzie down for her morning nap, and left for IKEA after she woke up.
(Okay, there is more to this story. Spilled coffee and soaked pants and an altogether failed travel schedule were involved. Bur this is a recap post.)
The best way to describe our IKEA trip is to say that Mackenzie hung in there. We bought her a couple of cute toys, as well as some bedding and curtains for our room. (It is so nice to finally have a set that matches!)
We had dinner at Brio’s with Chris’s best friend and his wife. It was wonderful to see them again. I love the way our relationship with them has grown over the years.
Then, on Sunday morning we took Mackenzie to the hotel pool. That was my favorite part of the whole trip. I was nervous that Mackenzie would be afraid of the water, but she loved it. We had so much fun introducing it to her. I think we’ll try getting a baby pool for the three of us to play in at home.
Then on Sunday we ate lunch at a brewery that Chris picked out and headed home to Nashvegas.
It was a short trip, but sweet and relaxing. I’m so glad we went. Hopefully we’ll get to visit our friends in Hotlanta again soon.

I know! I love that photo. Chris snapped it on his way back to the table. She’s such a big girl!
