This morning Chris and I are running in the St. Jude’s Rock n Roll Music City Marathon. We’re doing the half – 13.1 miles.
I told Chris yesterday that I’m not nervous, but that’s not really true.
I’ve never run (or walked) that far, so I’m nervous about that. I’m worried about injuries and shin splints and side aches and passing out.
The chance for rain is 70%, and we haven’t found parkas yet, so I’m worried about wet shoes and slick roads and thunderstorms.
There are supposedly 30,000 racers this year, so I’m anxious about that. The sheer number of people is overwhelming. I don’t even want to think about parking.
But you know what I’m not worried about?
Terrorists.
Today we are running for Boston. The Nashville running community even started a Facebook group – Finish strong, finish for Boston. It’s time to hit the pavement.
