I’m finally getting around to sharing this… We built Mackenzie a new bed over the summer. She had really outgrown her crib, and it was just time. We found these plans we liked on Ana White’s site, and Chris did a great job combining them to create a twin-sized farmhouse day bed with a trundle.
We let Mackenzie help us like we did last year with the shelf Chris built for her. Different story this year!! There was white paint everywhere — all over her boots, all over the garage floor, in all of our hair, on our faces, arms, and legs. Talk about a lesson learned. It’s amazing how much she has grown and changed. Super, super fun, though. 🙂
Chris and I got to have a date night that Saturday night (thank you, Lea!!), and then on Sunday, we went to church, sanded and painted some more, went to a barbeque with our small group, shopped for a new blanket for Mackenzie, and went home to set up Mackenzie’s new bed. When all was said and done and the little lady was tucked in and fast asleep, it was at least 10:00 pm. Parenting fail on that one.
Long, long day. Fantastic weekend, though.

I love it! I also love the birch tree scape behind her bed! So cute. She looks happy, too!

Aww, thanks, Stacy! I like how the silver birch trees turned out, too. 🙂
