Cocktail Hour at Sardinia with Nashville Food Bloggers

August 22, 2013

Last night I got to enjoy a very special treat – cocktail hour at Sardinia Enoteca Ristorante with the Nashville Food Bloggers.

It was my first Nashville Food Bloggers event, and it was so much fun. An evening out with like-minded people, getting to meet so many sweet local folks, and finally putting faces with names. What more could a girl wish for?

Tons of amazing, delicious rustic Italian food?

And Sardinia delivered.

From house-made charcuterie and a fantastic cheese plate, to pizza, to pasta, we were blown away. The pizza was fresh and delicious, and the pasta was perfectly al dente, served with soul-soothing sauce. You really can’t go wrong with either entree.

The house-made charcuterie rivals any I’ve had before. The Coppola was my favorite. The crostinis were also delicious. I think the one with roasted peppers was my favorite, but I enjoyed all three very much.

And dessert was in a class by itself. We didn’t catch the names of all the desserts that were served, but they were all amazing. Three of them were something akin to pots de creme, each with its own unique sauce. One was something in the realm of a gourmet chocolate brownie, one was a panna cotta, and another was a puff-pastry tower of deliciousness. So, so good.

Per its website, Sardinia places a heavy emphasis on the wine it serves, both the variety and the quality.

There is world of great wine out there. At Sardinia Enoteca we want to offer you a wide variety, because wine is our inspiration… For us, the quality of our wine is as crucial as your tasting experience.

The cocktail I was served was fresh and delicious, without the overwhelming burn of too-strong alcohol that usually makes me shy away from cocktails. I also tried the Malbec on the by-the-glass wine menu. It was served at the perfect temperature and was absolutely delicious. It’s rare that I try both a cocktail and a glass of wine and enjoy them both equally.

If you’re looking for a new restaurant to try for date night, or even just a night out with friends, I highly recommend Sardinia. Chris and I will definitely be going back soon. The restaurant is warm and inviting — casual enough for an after-work get-together, but cozy enough for a quiet dinner with the one you love. Either way, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. There’s also a lovely outdoor patio that I’m looking forward to trying.

Sardinia Enotoca is located on 25th Avenue North in West End. It’s easy to overlook until you go there once, and then you can’t miss it. From the I-440 interchange on 70S, go left on 25th Ave N/Elliston and stay left. It will be immediately on your right just after you cross the intersection.
