Going Green Life Marriage

Baby Mama

April 27, 2008

So… yesterday was a long day, and nothing went quite as planned. I meant to leave for Little Rock at 10:00 am, but Chris had to work until noon, which meant not getting on the road until 1:00 pm. We stopped by the Earth Day celebration at the Clinton Presidential Park (sheesh) and got to see Joel and his friends. Tons of people were out, and it was cool to see so much awareness and people getting involved to make a difference.

Then, Chris and I ran up to the Mazda dealership to hand in some paperwork and get the cars detailed. I finished the paperwork before Chris even got there, but it took another three hours for them to detail the cars. THREE HOURS. Of my Saturday, my one time a week set aside for just me and Chris. I was irritated, because it is NOT my idea of a fun day to sit and watch the NLF draft picks with my husband in a car dealership. Then, the detail job was pointless… I couldn’t even tell that they did anything at all. Irritating.

At that point, Chris had to run back up to the church to get ready for service. I ran over to Java Roasting Company to do homework (which is a very cool place, by the way. Definitely check it out if you’re in town), but then I couldn’t log in to my classes. Called in an IT ticket, and they said they’d get back to me in the next business day.  Hellooo… I have homework due this weekend.

So I gave up. I read a magazine and then went to Whole Foods for a little while (they have stopped using plastic bags, BTW. Hope the rest of the world will soon follow). Chris and I were both kind of worn from the long week, so we went and watched Baby Mama, starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. It was actually very funny, and I highly recommend it. It was clean, and I actually laughed out loud once or twice… So go see it. You won’t regret it.
