Admittedly, Chris and I aren’t big party-ers, and with our budget cuts this year, we’ve scaled way back on a lot of things we enjoy. Like fancy dinners at cool restaurants and concerts and spontaneous road trips.
That may seem like you’re stereotypical married-for-six-years-uncool kind of scenario, but we’re actually really fun people. I promise. 🙂
Give our cutbacks, my favorite night out this year (besides U2, and besides one of the many plays we saw at The Rep) was watching Switchfoot at an outdoor concert with Chris. We walked from group to group and talked with friends. We acted like teenagers and snuggled on the grass. Then we laughed at the teenagers and their dates for thinking they were so cool and so discreet.
We walked around the outdoor amphitheater and stared at the beautiful stars over the river as Jon Foreman sang, “When I look at the stars…” We took in every beautiful moment.
It was a beautiful night.
