Chris and I have a favorite place to eat here in Conway. It’s a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant called Jade China, and they have better fried rice than anywhere else we’ve eaten… except maybe PF Chang’s, and even that’s a hard sell.
Part of the tradition of our meals at Jade China is that we always open and read our fortune cookies. No matter how late it is or how fast we have to eat, we always read our fortunes. It’s not that we believe that they’ll come true; we know very well that they are pre-printed and manufactured at a factory somewhere. But still, we read them.
Here’s mine from last night:
“You have an active mind and a keen imagination.”
