Flooding in Nashville

May 15, 2010

I’ve been meaning to share videos of the recent flooding in Nashville. Chris and I live in Bellevue, which is located near the Harpeth River and sustained an enormous amount of damage. We are out volunteering today with our church, Cross Point Community Church, to help our neighbors continue to clear out their homes and sort their possessions.

Many families and individuals have literally lost everything. The need here in Nashville is overwhelming, and while city officials and churches have done an outstanding job coordinating efforts, we need help from the outside world, too. If you’d like to donate to the relief effort, please consider giving to the Cross Point Flood Relief Fund or the Nashville Red Cross. Both of these organizations are actively funneling donations right back out into our community. Your help is much appreciated.
