Chris and I have both switched into “get it done” gear in regard to Mackenzie’s nursery and finishing up our preparations for her. I have a few nursery projects that have just been dragging on, and I finally finished two of them Monday.

I am really pleased with the chair. There are so many little areas that are very imperfect, but for my first upholstery project, I think it turned out great. I {loosely} followed this tutorial. If you decide to take on a similar project, these instructions will help you out immensely.

I also wanted to use some of the fabric from the crib bedding on the wall, so I made a simple wall hanging. For a “simple” project, the embroidery took much longer than I expected – a solid six hours. Still, totally worth it. ![]()

Next up – sewing a big wet bag, a diaper pail liner, a nursing cover, and a nursing pillow. Thank goodness for a long weekend!

Wow, beautiful job on the chair and embroidered initials! Impressive! The chair looks like you bought it at an expensive boutique!

Aww, thanks, Julia! We’re framing the paintings you did for us, and I’m going to do an entire post on them so the world can see your beautiful artwork.
