I haven’t posted for You Capture in quite a while, and I feel the urge to post something… different? more creative? here tonight. It’s been such a stressful week, and I want to post something just for fun.
Nothing has been more fun lately than watching Mackenzie’s personality really develop. She loves to play. In fact, it seems like everything is about play or involves play now. I am learning so much from her, and being challenged to stimulate her learning in creative and fun ways.
We had so much fun playing at the pool at our hotel in Atlanta a couple of weekends ago. These photos are old, but I haven’t shared them yet, so I’m cheating a bit and posting them today… and if you’ll hang with me, there’s a little video of Mackenzie’s first time in the pool at the end.
Chris was so careful and gentle about introducing Mackenzie to the pool water. She was uncertain, and I love this shot of her touching his face. She reaches out and touches our cheek when she isn’t certain, when she needs reassurance. Melt my heart.
Chris started by just getting Mackenzie’s feet wet by dipping her toes in the water. The water was cold, but she didn’t seem to mind. I was so proud of her. And of course, she was adorable in her little swimsuit.
Chris held Mackenzie and gradually took her out into deeper water so that the water was up to her waist. Then he held her on her tummy and let her kick her arms and legs. It was absolutely adorable. I carried her, too, but I was nervous. Chris has that daddy confidence thing going on, and Mackenzie responds confidently in turn. It is so sweet to watch.
Mackenzie loved the water. She was constantly face planting. When she figured out how to splash, it was game over. 🙂 Of course we got it on video. I hope you enjoy this little snippet.
