House Projects Update

Hello, friends!

The last month has been a complete blur, and it’s probably for the best. I think I mentioned what a bear it was to move, and possibly how absolutely crazy it was of us to think that we could close, move, and pick up a washer and dryer in the same weekend. I’m not sure how I ever thought that was going to work. Moving is not our superpower.

However, working hard is something we can do, and Chris and I have been busting it to get the new house in shape and get our home life back to normal.

We picked up our washer and dryer two weekends ago, and we absolutely love them. I’m not sure I would go about it the same way again. We ordered floor models from the Sears outlet, but the dryer went out of stock, so we ended up getting the washing machine from Louisville and the dryer from Atlanta. Our trip to Atlanta was great (hey-o, IKEA!), but Louisville was cold and raining, Mackenzie was sick, I banged up my hand during the unload, and it was just general misery all the way around. Bless Chris for not totally losing patience with me.

I think that every time we unload of sweet-smelling, super clean, fresh laundry, those painful memories fade a little more.

We’ve made a lot if progress on our project list, too. We have blinds up in all the rooms except two, we are 75% unpacked, and we’ve made a lot of progress in the main living areas. We have a lot of almost-finished projects, but as they say, the last 10% if any project is the most difficult. Here’s to powering through! πŸ™‚
