It’s precious and adorable, and it’s driving me nuts.
That’s how all parents feel about the two-year-old stage, right?
Mackenzie turned TWO last Monday. If it weren’t for the very age-appropriate behavior, I wouldn’t have believed it myself.
We celebrated on Sunday, the 30th, at Lucky Ladd Farms with friends and family. Everyone had so much fun. We fed the animals, and the girls got to do pony rides. Mackenzie and Chris road on the train for the little ones together. We had healthy snacks for everyone, plus gluten free strawberry cupcakes from Holly and a delicious Elmo cake, both made especially for Mackenzie.
At her two-year checkup the other day, Mackenzie measured 34.5 inches tall (almost three feet!!) and 27.7 lbs. The circumference of her head was over 47 inches, which I guess means she’s super smart. As if I didn’t already know. She puts lots of two and three word sentences together, and I can ask her questions and give her instructions. She is making choices about giving truthful answers and whether or not she will obey my instructions. We have also unintentionally started potty-training, totally following her lead. We have had a few successful attempts. π
Mackenzie is at a really fun age. Super fun. When I’m not with her, I miss her, and I can’t wait to hug her and play with her and read to her. I am cherishing the moments when she says, “Mommy sit,” and pats the floor, inviting me to join her.
