Ima Kangaroo!

We have been really excited about the new Kangaroo Kickabout exhibit coming to the Nashville Zoo. Today was opening day, so you can guess where we were.

There are seventeen red kangaroos in the exhibit. Most of them are not fully hand-reared and were a little skittish.

There was one sweet one named Ima that was fully hand-reared. The president of the zoo used to take her home and let his daughters play with her, so she was very good with the kids. We all got to pet her. She was so soft!

The Wilderness Express was open, too, so we couldn’t turn down a train ride. Mackenzie got to ride twice – once with Chris, and once with me.

We had so much fun! Now that the cooler weather is here, I am getting excited about fall and all of the fun things we can do like corn mazes and pumpkin patches and picking apples. What do you have planned for the fall?
