We’ve been quietly cranking away over at For the Love of Peaches.
We posted several new recipes from our Portland Project last week, including recipes for super delicious Bakery Bar Biscuits, Panzanella Chicken, and Braised Short Ribs. I highly recommend the biscuits. They were our favorite from that batch of recipes.
This week we switched gears a little bit. I had two ice cream recipes I wanted to perfect, and I wanted to try a recipe from a new cookbook we just purchased, Chicken and Egg by Janice Cole. You absolutely have to check out the Roasted Strawberry and Buttermilk ice cream recipe — we can’t get enough of it. The Loveless Biscuit and Peach Jam ice cream is also wonderful. We were ALL fans of the cinnamon breakfast popovers, so make sure those make your list, as well.
We have a few more recipes from the Portland book that we’d like to try, but we’ve decided to switch gears a little bit and get back to making meals that are sustainable and doable for a family like ours, because we believe those will be the most helpful and inspiring and beneficial to a family like yours, too. The goal is to be inspired (and to inspire you) to want to get in the kitchen and make an awesome dinner for your family tonight. Complicated recipes and exotic ingredients don’t help, so we’re going to change direction a little bit and hopefully get closer to that goal.
Anyway, thanks for sticking with us! As always, we would love to hear what you think — what you like, what you don’t, and if you try a recipe, definitely let us know how you liked it. 🙂
