It’s a Girl!

May 24, 2010

On Friday afternoon Chris and I finally had our 20-week ultrasound. The appointment was scheduled for 8:30 am, but when we got there, we learned that some paperwork had not been submitted correctly. We walked away disappointed, assuming that we would have to wait another couple of weeks.

Now, this is the thing that I love (and that aggravates me) about my husband. When disappointments like these happen (and this was a big one), I feel exhausted and ready to give up. Luckily, Chris just gets fired up. For him, the disappointment becomes a challenge to overcome, and his first question is who to call to make it happen.

We still had to re-file a bunch of paperwork and spent hours on the phone, but thanks to Chris’ diligence and perseverance, we found another clinic that works with our doctor that also accepts walk-ins. Away we went!

So at 2:45, and after three and a half hours of waiting, they called our name. Our baby is healthy, active, and weighs a whopping 12 ounces. And… she’s a girl. Say hello to Mackenzie Joy Wilcox. 🙂

What wonderful news to share with us. “Hello” to Mackenzie Joy. Lovely name. It is so exciting getting a scan – a sneak peek of the baby inside. I still treasure my scan photos & both children like to look at them & hear about when they lived in Mummy’s tummy 🙂
Congratulations & thanks for sharing a piccie of your baby girl!
