Yesterday we celebrated my sweet husband’s 29th birthday.
It was a grown-up, dad-of-an-infant kind of birthday, with dinner served quickly and sandwiched in between Mackenzie’s dinner and bedtime. For dessert I made dark chocolate brownies served with mint chocolate chip ice cream… which we ate leisurely (ha!) at the kitchen table, in between fussy baby wake-ups.
And today, the day after, his first day on the job so to speak, Chris made time in his work schedule to be at Mackenzie’s pediatrician appointment. He went in to work early and stayed late, so he could be there for his baby girl.
Because that’s the kind of dad he is, and just one of the many reasons I love him so.
Happy birthday, Chris. I love you. I’m proud of you. I’m excited about everything this year will bring.
